You can check you startup entries and runonce entries in the registry or with msconfig or task scheduler for something that opens it. It's very odd behavior to be openin from sleep as well. If you don't use any of the advanced settings in the control panel there's really no point in having it installed. Try to reinstall the driver only or try a fresh reinstall of it entirely. Use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to completely remove any trace of it before reinstall.
