What are some mahou shoujo manga? I'd prefer more focus on story/plot than pure fanservice.

More Madoka, less Mai-HIME, for example.

shimeji simulation kind of gives off the same feeling as madoka, especially as the story progresses more and more
i cant really explain it too much without spoiling, but trust me its worth reading

Just to clarify--it doesn't need some deep intricate wild plot like Madoka. I'd just prefer it to have A plot and not just be pure ecchi fanservice.

Can I give up and piece together related recommendations?

"The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady", princess who lacks magic meets magically gifted reject, more drama than comedy.
"Re:Creators", magical girl appears in the real world.
Sola, "magical girl" as a curse.
Maria†Holic, high school shenanigans, is comedy but the art style and the school reminds of the school scenes in madoka.

That is what I actually seen but "Magical Girl Site" was recommended around and is in my TBW.
