I'm looking for books that scratch the same itch as Count of Monte Cristo. It doesn't even necessarily have to be about revenge. I'm most interested in the meticulous planning and all the little details that go into executing plans over years. I also really like the idea of being instructed by a "master" like in the prison setting in the beginning of the book. Obviously I''m aware of other Dumas works like Three Musketeers.
