I'm looking for any stories where the main characters are not in a typical main character role, where everything/everyone revolves around them. Basically, instead of having friends that orbit them in the background, they are those friends.
It can be any genre or setting. I'd prefer it if there was some romance, but I'd also prefer it if it wasn't just the typical "secondary hooks up with primary" (or servant w/ master) pairing. So, maid and butler, or gangster with gangster, etc.

I'm casting kind of a wide net with what exactly fits this bill, so feel free to share anything you think falls into or is adjacent to the qualifications I wrote.
