But seriously, it's not that complicated. We have two circulations. Even wondered why our punp has TWO ventricles when one should suffice?
Because the blood first enters the weaker RIGHT ventricle and gets pumped throug the lung to lose cardon dioxide and get fresh oxygen. Then it goes BACK to the heart into the LEFT atrium and much more powerful ventricle which pumps it through the whole body.
