I know, there are a thousand games with character customization these days, but I specifically want something similar to how the last several Pokemon games (X/Y, Sun/Moon, Sword/Shield, Scarlet/Violet) have been, where you play through the game earning money and there are boutiques/salons spread throughout the world that you can choose to spend your money on to customize your character with every so often.
The key here is that there's an actual game besides the customization. Pokemon isn't perfect, but it's a good baseline for what I want. A wide range of outfits would also be nice, too.
I'd also prefer not to play an MMO, even though I feel like they probably do this sort of thing best. And though I said there needs to be an actual game portion, if it focuses more on the customization, that might be fine, too. Also, I'd like 3D game recommendations, but 2D games can still be good, if there are a lot of options.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
