Have there ever been characters that look like this, but are actually really swell guys with hearts of gold?
I know of plenty of examples where the character looks intimidating or tough and is mistaken for a brute only to be a good guy, but not any where he looks nefarious, conniving, treacherous or ugly.
The closest I can think of is Angel Densetsu, but even there he's more intimidating than nefarious or ugly.
