I have a set of speakers that work fine, but my laptop doesn't recognise them as a device. So I use pulse audio controls to set the sound output to Headphones (unplugged) and it usually works fine. After updating to Ubuntu 24.04, however, it has stopped working and will only play audio through devices it recognises.
How do I force the new Ubuntu to play audio through the headphone jack even if it can't "see" anything there?
