Can probably just turn off secure boot and it will resolve itself. Swap to legacy bios instead of UEFI

Should I boot into a live usb and try to rescue my files first? Can anything go wrong if I disable secure boot?
And why legacy bios? I use linux if that matters.

Nothing should happen to your files, and linux runs better on legacy bios anyways. Otherwise you have to verify the OS with the UEFI with MOK keys and that's just a headache, especially when you have to do it each time you make a virtual machine.

Even if it's a laptop with only 1 drive you should partition it.
