Reinstalling Windows On An Old SSD

I built a new computer with a new CPU and all new parts except for my SSD. I was under the impression my old installation of windows on my SSD would carry over to my new build, however the bios of my new computer couldn't find any bootable devices

I'm trying to use Windows Installation Media to reinstall windows but it's giving pic related error. Would formating the drive fix the issue? I'm not sure what these words mean

The MBR is a section of your drive that tells computer how the blocks are arranged on the partitions of your drive. It's been around since the early 80s. GPT does the same thing but is nearly 20 years newer.

EFI is a set of instructions that tells your hardware how to interact with your software and start loading. It's about 20 - 30 years newer than and has largely replaced BIOS.

Your new hardware uses EFI, your old hardware would have been BIOS. Your new EFI hardware requires that the drive use GPT but your disk uses MBR.

Yes. Formatting the drive to GPT will allow you to install Windows to that drive. You will lose all data from that drive.

If you have information on that drive that you want to keep you will need to boot up using a different drive and copy files from before reformatting and reinstalling.

A part list usually helps. A lot of of the time a sata or m.2 slot gets disabled if a pci-e port is filled or if you have too many disks.
