>Is it true that mothers like their daughters less than their sons in general?kind of. probably not less but in a different way. parents often see their same sex children as their own reflection, kind of project to improve on their own life and live vicariously through them. they have much more to teach them and this indirectly includes stronger opinions on correct behaviour and stricter enforcement of it.
parents tend to dote more on opposite gender children, i think there might even be slight freudian component to it
