I dont know about programming but I use it, all I do is

mine is extracted on desktop, thats why I type "cd desktop"
sometimes it stops working but it's fixed after its updated, you can update with "yt-dlp -U"
I dont remember if I had to download extra stuff though

You haven't needed to use bestvideo+bestaudio in years. It picks the best formats by default now, all you need is "yt-dlp [URL]".
