have any of you guys dealt with this?

samsung odyssey monitor, every now and then there's a video game with which this happens when I tab out or shut the application down.
it was ordered online so I don't know what the trip was like but I've handled it carefully ever since.

any ideas?

does it always look like this or does it work fine on the desktop?
one suggestion could be to try another cable, if you haven't already, maybe get one that is VESA certified
another suggestion, but this is a total guess: if the problem is with a specific game, it might be something related to resolution or refresh rate, try lowering your resolution and tab out of the game and see if it still happens
other than i don't know, obviously it shouldn't glitch out like that under any circumstance

if this works it's perhaps something game related but if you are still getting it outside your game it's perhaps hardware related, in this case >>1496098 has told you already

if not it is suggested to take to your local electronics workshop, or if you are used to work with electronics look for possible solutions
in youtube.
In advance: the vertical bars seems to be the usuall issue adressed in most youtube videos but the horizontal ones perhaps not, so it is suggested to either send back to warranty (if its in the period), or take to your local workshop, as last resort buy one new from a local store, in order you can ask to be tested prior you take it home.

This. This issue cannot possibly be related to the monitor, it's a problem with the graphics card. It could be graphics card software related rather than hardware; but it's certainly not the monitor.
