Requesting computer advice.

I have 2 users on my computer.
The old one is not used anymore (hasn't been for years).

Is it safe to delete its AppData folder, or could there be older installed programs that still use those files despite being accessed from my new user?

If there's a way to check that, it'd also be welcome. I just want to free some space on my SSD, fattest portions are the Two Appdatas, one 50GB and the other 70GB, which is about half of the total capacity.

it is safe if you don't plan to use that user anymore
what is stored in appdata is usually user customizations and data such as the browser's profile and addons, also temporary files and cache which may actually be what is taking so much space
just browse inside to make sure you're not deleting anything important (game save files, program settings, etc.), but i guess not since you have been using a different user for years
if anything you can always reinstall the programs you might need but this is usually not an issue as programs aren't often installed under appdata
you can also use wiztree if you want to find the biggest folders on your drive

Appdata is filled with stuff of various levels of usefulness. A ton of it is just cache and logs that you can delete without any concern, but there are game saves, browser profiles, logins, program settings and others.

Get bleachbit and clean both; I'm not actually sure if it'll automatically clean all users, so logon to the old account if it doesn't. Get the optional .ini in the options menu, too. Make sure to check what it's deleting by doing a dry run, then clear all that shit. You'll have much less to sift through and you can just compress the other user's folder as a backup and delete the folder after.

Yeah, my biggest fear is deleting some file and finding out months later it was actually needed for a software that has been cross-referencing the old user's AppData because that's the user where I originally installed it.

Wiztree is actually pretty handy, with that I can focus on the bulkier files and got my SSD drive from 5gb free to 44gb. It was 20gb of temp files, 10gb of Photoshop/SAI auto-backups, and another 14GB of old projects I had rendered multiple times and kept the old copies of.

Now onto my 1TB slave, let's see what happens..
Ok, it's 91% media collections, so I have to dig through my backlog and delete some shit, no way around it.

Still, this gives me a lot of wiggling room.
If anyone else is looking to clean some disk space by deleting Temp files, use Windows' native disk cleaner, it will automatically filter out the most recent files (7 days or younger) and only delete old stuff.
There's still some risk poorly made software use them as storage, but I'll bite the bullet for the hefty space it frees up.
