No, it would be a pricier alternative to a low-end PC.
The performance is roughly equivalent to a Ryzen 3 3100 with an RX 550, playing at 800p.
Only go for it if you absolutely need the portability.

thing with steamdeck is that you require the proton compatibility layer to play games that aren't native to linux.
not every game plays nice and just because something is supported under proton today doesn't mean it will tomorrow.

i build a PC with a rx6600 with a Ryzen 5 3600 for about 600 euros.
runs pretty much everything i can throw at 1080p.
