Sometimes you just need to use specific vocabulary words to get the right style

I got you some good results using:
"grey cotton flannel mens shirt thin black stripes"

Flannel should get you shirt with similar material
Also try using the term 'pinstripe' to get the thin line style

Okay, searching that I found some shirts that I think will look good with the vest, but still not the same as what he is wearing. Probably my problem is that I don't know fashion terminology, so don't know what terms to search.
Before posting I was just looking for "herringbone" shirts.

It's why going to better stores like Nordstrom is educational about nice shirts. Look at the label and manufacturer name when you're at Nordies.

You can also take the picture on your phone to Nordstrom customer service in one of their retail shops. And ask if they have any shirts like that or if one can be ordered. You might find variations that are closer to what you want and with a tighter yarn than in the shirt you showed in this thread.
