Just name anything that comes to mind that's:
>relatively inexpensive
>doesn't involve entertainment media
>doesn't involve creating art
>can involve other people but doesn't require it
>can be regularly done for over several hours
I'm not asking for hobbies that me or you would be into but rather anything that fits the criteria listed.

by this time you'll be able to hit wildwinds website and be able to catalog your coins into pvc flips - expect loads and loads of Constantines, Constantius, etc. but you'll occasionally find 3rd, 2nd and even 1st century coins in an uncleaned lot.
protip: the black slugs are silver - one of mine was a very well worn Nero
fun hobby for the academically minded

go to stores/malls/shoppingcenters and watch what people do/wear/act. lotsa fun for hours. or go onto youtube and watch the live cams of malls or walking recorded videos or streets.

Arduino and stuff like this, maybe?
A basic but good third-party Arduino board, soldering station, solder, desoldering braid, and a bunch of basic components like jumper wires, buttons, and LEDs will cost like $25-40, and 3/4ths of it will be the board and the station, which will last you a long time.
I personally did a bunch of really useful shit out of a couple Arduino Nanos and an RPi Pico, and soldering is a really useful skill, scavenging one of the working switches from an old mouse and using it to replace a broken switch in a new mouse is much cheaper than buying another new mouse.
