>>1497743>What's a legitimate good web browser? For the major web PC type browsers out there, there are just three suppliers: Google, Apple, and Mozilla. Linux users might say the popular Vivaldi is the fourth major supplier, but that browser is based upon google's Chromium engine.
Apple has just their Safari and you need apple gear. It does not preserve privacy.
Google has the Chromium engine which various companies customize the interface to provide their own branded version. It does not preserve privacy. Chromium is: Chrome, Edge, Opera, Avast, and many other company-branded browsers.
Mozilla Firefox is the only major browser that tries to preserve privacy. It can do so because it has its own engine that doesn't phone home. Firefox also has a large number of volunteer programmers working with paid programmers to keep the browser advancing with changes in online servers and privacy issues.
Major Web Browser Comparison
