I bricked my SD Card Reader by accidentally modifying the firmware, how do I flash generic firmware onto it to get it working again?

you didn't back up the original firmware? did you flash it through some hardware fuckery or just a software update?

How did you even "accidentally modify firmware"? Did you make any backups of original firmware? Did you try searching for firmware on the internet?

I tried to make a bootable sd card & the firmware was damaged in the process.

It happened as I was writing the boot sector in an attempt to make an sd card bootable.

There was a definite glitch in the firmware as I couldn't access the reader via Linux VM or LiveUSB until afterwards.
