I just spilled a small amount of water into my pc and now it wont power on when I hit the button. How do i tell which parts are fucked, I desperately need to salvage atleast some of these parts but i don't know where to start troubleshooting.

Not sure if it's applicable but about 20 years ago I spilled Orange Juice down the back of an old CRT TV and when turning it on the screen was warped and fucked and I went to school hoping it would fix itself and coming home around 8 hours later it was fine and worked until we got rid of it 6 years later.

Long story short, maybe let it dry off and check in a day? Maybe use a hairdryer on a low setting?

Start by the power supply. Test it separately from the rest to not damaged anything else. It's likely the first thing to break on a short.

Even if he trys to wet the entire PC and power it up, many components may remain safe if the power supply is blown. To destroy everything he should cut an extension cord in half, expose wires on one end and plug the other end into a wall outlet, then arc 120 volts through each component. Like this he wouldn't even need to make anything wet

in what part exactly?
did the case was opened or closed?
First unplug it from the ac power.
then let it dry totally before you plug it again.
