I’ve been unemployed since early October and surviving on odd jobs over this period, as I am an university student (public college), but now I have no work lined up since the last one is not hiring me anymore without prior warning. I’m desperate. My rent is overdue, and I don’t have enough to pay it or my water bill.

I live far from my only family—just my mom (my dad passed away when I was 12)—and I have no one else to turn to. I haven’t slept in days because I’m terrified of being evicted.
