Listening to the songs is good and all, but you have to sit down, analyze the lyrics and understand what they are saying.
And then listening to the song while being able to understand the meaning of what you hear will be the equivalent of reviewing flashcards.

It might be worth watching a few to get some cultural insight, but you have to keep in mind there are 99 different countries, it will be hard to grasp all dialects and nuances anyway, so you don't have to torture yourself with low budget dramas.
