Just randomly remembered and looking for a game, with the mechanics and looks of a typical animesque VN or dating sim that featured you going to another dimension and interacting with/dating monstrous interdimensional creatures. It wasn't a horror thing, just uncanny, surreal and unsettling, kind of like Hylics. There was also a community around it, making fanart etc.
