Does torrenting damages an SSD? Would an HDD be better for that?
I've researched about it but only found conflicting information.

A typical 1TB SSD has a TBW rating of 600TB.
At 25GB/day, it would take 65 years to go through that.

Writes on a hard drive don't wear it down, but its parts still wear out mechanically over time.
If it's on 24/7, it's increasingly likely to fail after a few years.
At least, it'll start sounding weird as a warning sign.

Meanwhile a SSD tends to just completely fail one day with little or no warning.

IMO the optimal configuration is a SSD for all the account related things on your PC that are easily restored (like others have mentioned, SSDs can just die instantly), so your OS and Steam and such all get dumped on there. Then a HDD for bulk file storage, my torrents end up directed there because that's where videos roms pics n shit just get dumped. These files would be slightly more annoying to reacquire so failure warning is nice. Also an external drive of some sort to backup anything you don't want to lose. Anything not backed up should be expected to be lost... I don't see any point mechanically to pick torrenting on any particular drive
