can someone help me download from the fifa archives? i tried using jdownloader and yt-dlp and they dont work. it seems theyve got some kind of system in place to prevent people from downloading videos.

I've been using that extension for a year to record and download blocked stuff on dozens of sites but chrome recently changed so it might not be available to download on chrome, it just need any web video player set to highest quality and then it records and download the whole thing. if you can't find it maybe search for alternatives.

i just tried using fetchv with the video above and it downloaded and the file is about the right size (3.7gb) but when i tried to play using vlc there's nothing. no video no audio.
seems fifa really dont want you downloading their shit.

I copied this post from a private torrent site called aidoru-online a while ago (you can ask anyone there in the bottom open general chat they welcome anyone), I haven't try it yet, I know people use it there a lot to download protected stuff but it can be a bit complicated.

- Most sites use an implementation of HLS (http live streaming). These are segments of video and audio stored in a playlist file (m3u8, mpd) ect. So then you need a way to download HLS, the simplest method is yt-dlp with a command like "yt-dlp url -o output.mkv" but if the site is protecting the work with a key you might need to download that first by playing in the network editor or if it's using drm like widevine you may need to dump a cdm first

you can download the encrypted stream with yt-dlp --allow-unplayable-formats

i don't know how to get the decryption key, maybe ask /g/. if you do, send a link to it here, because i'd be interested.
i've never used these, but maybe one of them will work to get the key

you need an android CDM for both of those, i don't know where to find that

if you get the key, you should be able to decrypt the downloaded stream with ffmpeg -decryption_key or mp4decrypt
