>>1512259In 70%+ of cases when men go bald it's androgenic balding. Body produces so much DHT (dihydrotestosterone) that it miniaturizes your hair follicles, which in turn produces hairs that are thinner, easier to break etc. until the hair follicle stops growing hair (AFAIK you can't reliably reactivate them).
In order to stop hair loss (if it is androgenic balding we are talking about), amount of DHT in the body must be reduced. Finasteride can do that, there is another substance, dutasterdie, which is basically more powerful finasteride. Thing about finasteride is while it reduces DHT in your body, it may kill your libido (problems with maintaining erections, weaker erections, increased time of refraction period (time you have to wait until you dick can get hard again after orgasm), decreased sex drive etc.). If you won't get such side effect, consider yourself fucking lucky, since finasteride is currently only reliable way to stop this. If you get side effects, you have to figure out whether you can accept and live with them or chose to keep your dick working and go bald. If you want your dick to be functional, then it is end of the road for you. My advice: go either Statham Style (start working out, buzzcut, five o'clock shadow hair facial) or become Bruce Willis and just clean shave it.
If you don't get side effects or you got them but chose to live with them, then additionally to finasteride, you probably will have to use minoxidil, which improves condition of your hair follicles (it's liquid, your rub fixed dosage into your scalp). You take fin and minoxidil for the rest of your life, unless your decide to stop, but your hair loss will return. In order to finasteride to take full effect, you will have to take it for up to 6 months I think.
