Use yt-dlp.
You can use the command line, or you can just use FreeTube, Tartube or some other GUI wrapper that makes it much easier overall.
Google yt-dlp related projects there are more than I can count, most of them work.

Freetube is mainly for watching youtube, yt-dlp is for downloading videos. They're separate.

Windows command line works the same as DOS. All you need to know right now is CD opens directories, DIR lists directories, and you run programs by typing their name. So to use yt-dlp on windows, you download it, put it in the folder you want, open CMD, then navigate to that folder, then type "yt-dlp [video URL]". That'll download the video in the highest quality available and and put it in the yt-dlp folder.

Yt-dlp doesn’t work for restricted videos without an account. Some online downloaders will work. They’ll ban your account for TOS violations

YouTube. If you’re bulk downloading videos with yt-dlp and the cookies from your login, they seem to have some way of detecting it. In any case, yt-dlp, Jdownloader, idm, whatever, will all fail on restricted videos unless you use your account info

Not everyone wants to pay for IDM, anon. Plus, yt-dlp is FOSS and way more configurable. IDM can't handle advanced stuff like downloading entire playlists, grabbing metadata, or selecting specific formats without you jumping through more hoops than yt-dlp. Get on the level.
