A good chunk of current popular manga seems to get attention and praise just going off fast pacing, action scenes (Kagurabachi, JJK) or other shallow stuff like being grotesque enough for shock value reasons(Jagaaan was the worst with this, genuinely dogshit comic), but I can't fault them more than that's since it's their main purpose after all and I've kinda grown tired of overhyped action manga in general (both seinen and shounen desu).
Is there anything with slower pacing that focuses more on character writing, dialogue and possibly worldbuilding rather than being cinematic and action-focused, that's currently releasing and hasn't been going on for 10+ years?
I've already read all the more non-action popular series like Dungeon Meshi, Made In Abyss, Girl's Last Tour, Hokusei No Kuni, etc. and even Frieren was alright overall.
Also loads of classic manga but this thread is specifically for current gen ones.
What do I read now if I'm not interested in battle series anymore?
