Looking for anime recs where the protag is very cool, edgy, and gets shit done. Best example i can give is pic related ( Unlimited Psychic Squad) Chivalry of a Failed Knight is another example ill enjoy if you take the edge away.

A Certain Scientific Accelerator is probably more similar to the anime you mentioned. However you probably want to watch A Certain Scientific Railgun first since this anime is a spinoff from Railgun.

Yeah that's how I originally watched the series.
First I watched all Railgun seasons, Accelerator then Magical Index. Magical Index is probably the worst of the 3. Its less confusing watching the series in this order.

However pic related is is how the seasons aired.

Wait what? I only watched Index in the first place for Accelerator, but never watched Railgun, and I was gonna read the Accelerator manga soon - am I gonna be lost doing that then? Now that you mention it, I guess given the names I shouldn't be too surprised.

Final Fantasy Unlimited might fit the bill? The only reason I hesitate is that there's a couple of kids with him that are sorta joint protaonists, still figure it's worth mentioning though. Betterman too perhaps, simmilar issue though but worse.
