A coworker of mine is big into anime and books. He's gotten me to watch some of them (I'm more of a literary fiction guy) and they're not as bad as I previously thought. He really likes Death Note and Beserk so I'm trying to think of some literary recs to bridge the gap between us.

Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment is for sure one, but any others he may like?
