When using sites like rule34, gelbooru, or any other booru-like site, is there a way to get notified when a tag or artist I like gets update with a new entry?

Use python and the requests library to access the rule34 API. The API is shit but you can access the request elements with the xmltodict library. Then attach an alarm or something idk, but this method seems too rustic.
