Computer BROKED?!

No.1519700 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
What's broken in my laptop?

I did a fresh install of Win10. I started by manually installing Intel Chipset Drivers I had downloaded from Dell's website.
My laptop froze during the install, and after that my pc was bricked. I formatted the SSD, tried to reinstall Win10, but it would freeze during the install. Something got fucked in the motherboard, on a hardware level, and the problem got inherited to new installs.
I fixed it by removing the internal battery, resetting BIOS clock and who knows what else. Now I could reinstall Win10. I actually tried the sus installer a few times - it crashed each time.

Sure, everything works now that I avoided installing that chipset driver, but knowing that one installer will brick my laptop makes me wonder.. there must be something wrong with the motherboard.
And yes, there are now unrecognized devices in the devman because they require the chipset drivers (SM Bus Controller, PCI data acquisition and signal processing controller) (no idea what these are, anon)
