help with Skyrim SE

Game crashes on startup. I can hear the Bethesda logo drums but otherwise it's just a black screen then crash. I don't even get the title screen.
Game's fresh off Steam so no mods.
Any help? tbf I think this PC may be too potato for SE but I wanna know for sure
i7 2600 3.4ghz
8GB RAM
8600GT 1GB

Might want to consult this with /tesg/ on /vg/. Also consider using ModOrganizer with fan patches, vanilla Skyrim is absolute ass to run.

Fine, meets the recommended specs too.

This is not fine. This is absolutely ancient.
The GPUs in the minimum specs are 10x faster.
Even with the original non-SE release of the game, it would have struggled.

I'm on a 1366x768 monitor so Oldrim runs okay at low.
Still, I think it may be DX11 compatibility or something..
