TV display issue

That line across the top flickers, and eventually everything below it starts to flicker too. Is it possible that it's a loose connection? Something I could fix by opening it up, or is the panel just fucked?

To be more clear, the bottom half doesn't flicker so much as the pucture moves ever slightly up and down so fast it looks like the picture is vibrating. I should also say that I have not hit the screen or abused it in any way, least of all in the months before this happened when I basically wasn't touching the tv at all.

Could be literally anything

Have you ever looked at modern electronics? Assuming it is a "loose connection", there are literally thousands of possible points. And each one would need to be checked carefully, and you could still easily miss it. TV panels aren't made to be repaired

I meant more like a loose ribbon cable I could just fiddle with a bit, like if I unpluged them all and repluged them back if if that would help, if it's a somewhat more complicated issue I could bring it into a repair shop for, or if the panel is just buggered and there's no proper solution outside of replacement.

Is there a diagnostic 'app' on the TV?
Try that first, take note over whether or not the line and vibrating happens in the diagnostic window too.
Few years ago I had a TV where the entire right half would become gibberish, was able to fix it by clamping a spot on the edge of the TV with a small vice grip tool.
Taking apart a panel TV is not a something for beginners, there is way too much stuff going on, reassembly is a bitch.
Over-tightening the screws can damage components, and there's like 40 screws.

Every single ribbon cable you'll find in a TV will crumble if touched wrong
*Nonsense solutions may work nonsensically, no reason not to try clamping random spots on the outside of the TV. But if you open it without knowing exactly what you're doing, something new will get fucked

One of the things I saw on youtube was a guy lightly pressing down on some of the microchips, and suddenly the lines went away on one of them.
Apparently had a loose connection to the board, so he heats it up with a heat gun to reflow the BGA.
I'd try it myself, but knowing there's a 50/50 chance of breaking it anyways.
TVs are so complicated now, can't just turn a little knob with a screwdriver to fix like you could in 1992.

There is no real diagnostic screen. There's a "secret" screen whivh has a few bit of information on it, like temperature, but norhing points to an obvious issue, and there's no troubleshoot menu or something for the tv to diagnose itself. I also went into the system menus and did not find anything that could adjust resolution on anything but select inputs, but as select inputs aren't the issue I don't see that helping.

Unfortunately yes.
Now a desktop computer the cables are expected to be fiddled around with because of hardware upgrades, but a TV in this age the cables are inserted once and usually taped down expecting it to be permanent.

If it makes any difference the TV is like 7 years old. I have fiddled with other things with ribbon cables before too, and iflt honestly seems like the only fix at this point, so I think cleaning up the board and fiddling with cables is my only shot outside of bringing it to a repair shop.
