I vaguely remember back in the day that it was bad form to remove the region code when ripping a full blu-ray disc because it might cause compatibility issues. Is this still a thing?

I've been backing up some of my DVDs for the last few months with this and haven't run into any issues. (Maybe except that one time, but the DVD was scratched beyond belief)

Compatibilities means different devices. Those issues would never be resolved. Question is do you care? Do you have whatever the old problem things were, or are your rips just for personal use on your PC?

The problem was it could brick your drive if you changed regions too many times. This doesn't affect the actual rips
