how to download youtube videos using vlc media player

I just found out about yt-dlp, is it good, like the standard amongst computer wizards nowadays?
If so, ignore my original question and tell me which one of these "GUIs" they're talking about in there you'd personally recommend.

Ok nevermind this shit doesn't work either because youtube itself blocks me from downloading with it because I seem to be a bot or whatever, and apparently no way to fix it aside from "don't have youtube think you're a bot lol"
Nothing technological ever works for me. I'm reminded once again why I'm a luddite.

Are you using the newest version of from the official source (github)?
There is a constant arms race between YouTube and yt-dlp. YouTube blocks their newest technique and then the devs find a way around it. So always keep it updated.
And don't use GUIs unless you're sure they are based on the newest version of yt-dlp.
