When I was a kid (20 years ago) I watched an anime on (Canadian) television and I cannot for the life of me remember the name of it nor have I been able to find it after scouring many lists. Maybe someone here will know of it.

It was definitely in the 90s-early 2000s style of big eyes and big hair, sharp features, etc. Two kids (boy and girl, very in love it was a whole thing), and the girl's? dad? was a scientist who had created this giant mecha (maybe a dragon?) that they used to shoot up off this giant ramp into the sky and end up in another world. The only other thing I remember was the villain was a guy and a ditzy girl.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
