I'm trying to make my own social media platform that doesnt collect behavioral data or try to addict you to it. A sustainable, wholesome social media site that wont wreck the attention spans of a generation of people.
But how would it work?

I coded a site from scratch and it ended up feeling like an imageboard, even though it wasnt my intention. On my site, you make threads and people post replies to them. When I showed my site to a few people they went
>meh, you just made a board
How do I turn my site into something "bigger" and not just another board?
I tried making a Twitter-style site where people post individual posts and you can comment on them, but it turned into a board again. If there's a post and comments to the post, it's a thread. Is every social media platform essentially thread-based even when we dont realize? Fuck. How do I escape threadism and invent something new?
