It's an extremely common phase for people here (you see it all the time on /fa/) and it's almost NEVER advisable to actually follow through with it, because you just end up looking ridiculous. It just does not. look. good.
Anime/manga is drawn, it is a completely different dimension from reality. What looks good in art does not always look good in person. Almost all animanga outfits that people commonly covet are too flamboyant and awkward for 99.99% of the population to pull off. Unless you are an Adonis (which is highly unlikely), you will not look good in it. You'll just end up signalling to everyone that you're autistic.
