Regarding how to use a backup image, it could be as simple as using the same Macrium software to restore/copy it onto your new drive. Put that new drive in your laptop and you're good. I think a better option would have been to clone the drive.
Or perhaps you are asking how your image will behave after - I really don't know. Certainly, the bad sectors will not be copied but depending on where those sectors are, there might be some data loss as bad as your OS not working to your personal data being corrupted. I hope you have a back up of it somewhere!
I have heard that SSDs have a failsafe that makes them read-only as they go bad, so I figure it's still there and readable for now. You will not know for sure until you use your new drive.
