I've been on a Cataclysm:DDA kick lately but I'm looking for writers or stories, particularly short stories, that have a sort of underground vibe or aesthetic. Something that you'd get particularly from post-apocalyptic fiction (or more so fanfiction) from series like Fallout of Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead.
I'd much rather read newer stuff to get on with the times because as great as Blood Meridian and Clark Ashton Smith are, I can only go so far with myself being recommended them the nth fucking time.
The closest examples I can think of that are of this example are:
