>>1542227hopefully my point was clear. At this point I’m set on Pacific Fungi as the branding for that aspect, but want a sub-brand or product line name for mushroom coffee (and at some point, other mushroom derivatives like jerky, gummies, etc).
I think it’d be better branding and whatnot to go as say ‘Shroom Coffee Co’ as a child company of Pacific Fungi than it would be to go as ‘Pacific Fungi Mushroom Coffee’ or something in other words? The product would just look cleaner and marketing be more targeted. Like I’d rather buy mushroom coffee from a company like Ryze than I would an actual farming type company. Comes off as more specialized and thus higher quality imo.
There’s tradeoffs to be made with how particular the branding is here, like if the name is explicitly tied to mushroom coffee, it’s gonna be an uphill battle to grow beyond that. At the same time, some people will read a name like ‘Shroom Coffee Co’ and head straight over to buy, knowing exactly what it is versus something more abstract like ‘Bloom’ or ‘uTropics’.
This is all stuff I’ve been thinking about for years at this point. My existing company is just ‘[my town] Mushroom Company’ and I always planned to rebrand at some point. I think splitting off into a mature, enterprise sounding mycology company and another, possibly multiple, focused on retail consumer packaged goods (one brand / product line for coffee, another for jerky/snacks, etc) makes sense. For awhile I tried to fit everything under one umbrella and I think it’s just worse that way.
