Not for any weird reasons, but because it's nostalgic. I watched the film Paperhouse a while back, and while the rest of the film is surreal and about dreams, near the beginning there's a sequence where the girl is with her friends, smoking at a railway station or something and it has a really interesting gritty vibe that reminds me of going to school during that era.
