I'm looking for recommendations for manga, LN or even WN romcom/drama where the protagonist starts off crushing on a girl who herself has a crush on another guy. He doesn't need to actually end up with the initial crush, some other female character also works.

More importantly, I want the protagonist to start off as somewhat of a loser, but over time grow into a reliable man, with progress being gradual rather then overnight.
