Prior to DDLC, it was likely the most common first VN for westerners, and is still excellent. Completely blindsided me when I first read it, and don't think I've ever been more immersed in a world than with KS.

The steam one is censored by default (there's a few short 18+ scenes), and needs an extra patch to restore it to the original. The adult scenes do actually have story relevance, and are best left enabled even if it's not your thing.
