I want to store a shitload of media long term, like 20+ tb of it, on a reasonable budget. Movies, books, music, video games, and so on. I've been looking into the options I have but I'm retarded and a lot of it's going over my head. I intend to access it frequently, would prefer minimal maintenance, and need it to be reasonably user-friendly. I was thinking of getting external drives, but I've heard some bad things about those regarding data integrity and lifespan so I'm not sure.
I'm basically just looking for a way to make a big archive of stuff before hardware prices jack up too much for when I can't do ad-hoc consumption from the internet anymore, so I don't need anything too sophisticated, but cloud storage is absolutely off the table. What's the best way to go about this and what should I read up on to understand this stuff better?
