anyone know what this coin is? Its pretty big and and its definitely japanese. My brother found it at a thrift store and I have no luck finding out what it is. If anything I'd like to know what the back says

It is a medallion celebrating the first Taiwanese election in 1935

(Might be worth checking the Chink article with a translator)

It uses traditional characters but I wrote in new form because I am lazy.
It commemorates a rate of over 99% votes, not sure if this is a candidate's result or just the turnover rate.
Happened in the region of 東港郡.
