Quite a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone read of a story involving a foreigner meeting a Japanese girl with a facial deformity at a mountainside temple. There was romance but I think he left her there.

I don't know where the memory came from, it might have been a greentext story from 4chan or elsewhere.
