Caring for a 3DS

No.1554692 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
I'm shortly getting my hands on a mint condition New 3DS XL, and I'd like to take the best care of it that I reasonably can. I'd like it to last and last without any faults or defects if possible, so one day my children who are never going to exist could inherit it as an heirloom, that sort of quality.

What can I do to keep the condition great? My current 3DS XL has two scuff mark lines on the screen from where it rubs up against the other half when it's closed, a handful of dead pixels on the top screen, and the plastic above the R button is broken off. I'd like to prevent all of that shit if I can.

Also for Pokemon nerds:
I'm going to be using this new console almost exclusively for gen 6 and 7 Pokemon games and I'd like to get the most out of it that I can. Is there anything at all I can do with a brand 3DS specifically for the purpose to meddle with my friend safari in X&Y and ensure it's a Ditto safari? How about for making sure that any Vivillion I raise is the pattern of my choosing, even if I can only pick my fave?

Thanks for any help.
