Why would you start at the far right. The point is you can write a word without lifting your pen from the paper, and the right is where you'd start on the next letter.
You start in the top middle, make counter clockwise circle, then go off to the right towards the next letter

That's not where you start. The whole point of cursive is that you don't have to lift your pen.
meaning you normally would come from another letter from mostly down to the left.
Then you do the O as shown.

I think you misinterpreted the arrow on the template you're practicing on. The first stroke is indeed to the left but I'm the third person to tell you now so I won't tire you.
My advice is to practice with a pencil first and then with a $10 fountain pen. Don't use ballpoint pens to practice, the script becomes so ugly it will demotivate you to continue. And make an ooooooooooooooooooooooooooo from the left margin to the right. If you've learnt the basic stroke there's no point any more in practicing the letter out of context. practice letters attached to other letters so you can actually make words without the letters being too much misaligned and different sizes.

bruh learn to use cursive because it helps you think and use paper to express yourself. I think better when I'm writing on paper. Can you tell from my post lol. But seriously the quality and style of my writing changes as I think when I write, and it changes my thinking when I compensate for sloppy letters. It teaches you to think before you write. You should try it. Your name will be the least relevant thing you know how to write . By the way if you only know how to write your name in cursive and you're like me, your signature won't be something worth writing home about. Because when you sign something it's always with someone else's pen on their paper. You need to write a few words before your fingers respond to the paper and make it look nice again. Anon I don't see how you wouldn't like cursive. Don't be so grumpy about your ugly cursive and pick up this hobby. It's great. It's a feedback loop between your fingers and your eyes just like dexterity video games. Except you will write stuff you would never have written on a screen and never expected from yourself because the way you present yourself to your PC is an alter-ego for that purpose and not how you would write on a piece of paper that is physically present in the context of your actual room in your actual house in stead of the context of a website or a file on your desktop. You should write shitty cursive, anon. And get better at it.
